| Mid American Race Report and random thoughts. Just rolled in a while ago returning from the ABA Nationals in Blue Springs, MO. If you've never been there they have a really sweet complex and host some great races. First off I just want to congradulate all the Nebraska riders for kicking it and taking names. You all had a great showing down there! Congrats to Chaz Bogle for winning on Saturday and turning Intermediate. Zaden Meeusen for winning on Sunday, DJ Edwards for taking the win on Saturday and Sunday, and Robert Hayden also brought home a first on Saturday and Sunday. It was tough weekend for Alex Ormond...He wrecked firt moto Friday, and again in the main. First moto in class on Saturday and in the mains both open and class. First moto on Sunday, and by a sheer miracle managed to stay on his bike in the main. LOL! Needless to say his body took a pounding and will be visiting a nice warm tub tonight for some R&R. The weather was bad until about main time on Sunday. With heavy rains and win Saturday night, the pits area looked like a graveyard for EZ Up canopies. Did anyone else see the BAWLS tent, man that thing was toast! The ABA sould out of National t-shirts, they had 3 left Sunday morning. Anyone notice how they are look the same lately? I think they need some fresh new ideas for those. We rented a fully loaded Town and Country mini van, sure hated to take that back. Mini Militia Team dinner Saturday night was fun! Breakfast burritos at the track Saturday morning were good! ABA did a good job keeping the track rideable. Throwing down the agrilime made it easy to see the muddy spots! The Hampton Inn has the slowest elevator known to mankind, and what was with the door in front of it? Who camped out Saturday night at the track, and did you survive? I hear lots of interesting things about a Redline Cup Qualifier, should make for a great weekend! Expert opinion says I had a great shot at winning the BBQ comp if I would have entered! If I did that, I would have missed all the crashes that went on. Hope everyone had a good time and gets rested..racing is here again on Tuesday. LOL! Turns out most people thought it would cancel due to rain, except it didn't rain. LOL! So much for Alex and Garrett having their own class, but they faired well considering. Big news is that Don Massey is gonna be a new papa come August. Thanks to him and Jack I won't be the oldest Dad in a few years! Thanks guys, I'm feeling young again! Congrats Massey family! Looks like the weather is not gonna be on our side come Friday. We'll have to wait and see if races cancell or get moved to Saturday again. Keep on eye out on the forum or check the hotline for details. Another question is will Star City be open this weekend? Hope so. |
