2008 - Year of the Tornado!

This picture pretty much sums up what racing has been like in Nebraska so far this year.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

This was posted on BMXActionOnline.com and I thought it would be good to share.
Sorry, I just had to start a thread about this. First off I'm a local track operator and loved to do this. I started a year ago and I would spend evenings and off days working on the track. This year we under took the challenge of a complete rebuild. We smoked everything except the berms but did major reconstruction on them as well. My problem is the track is still rough and needs TLC in areas to make it right. At 9:00 pm last night I had 4 volunteers to help today. I was at the track working from 7-10 this morning no one had showed up. These are the same riders who bitch about the condition of the track. I'm one man show who can only get so much done. So now I'm mad and writing this thread.

Please if you use your local track a lot please help your track operator with volunteer time. 10 people can get twice as much done in an hour than 1 person can get done in 10 hours. And someone please remember to bring the drinks for the workers. And for you other track operators out there Thank You for your time on your tracks.
If you ever wonder why some of the famous tracks out there are so successfull, remember one thing, it's all about the volunteers. Not much can be done without them unless you start paying people to help, but you'll feel that the next time you register and the prices go up. So thanks to all the people that put in the hard work at BMX tracks everywhere. Without you racing wouldn't be possible.

Paging Norm Rademacher or Billy Stafford. If you are alive shoot me an email. If anyone has seen them shoot me an email.

Tony Hawk has line of BMX and MTB bikes. Check it out at Huck Jam Bikes!

Looks like things have been a little slow around here lately..in reality it's been so busy I haven't had time to update things. Thanks to everyone who has been supportive of the BigWheel effort. Plates have been going like hot cakes this year, plaque designs for State and Redline Cup Qualifiers are in the works, and work on 2 websites will keep a guy busy. The ABA Mid America Nationals are just about here, good luck to everyone that is going. Look for the Mini Militia to be present and possible going for a team trophy to boot. The weather looks a bit sketchy right now, just hope the rain stays away for the weekend, if not there nothing like a BMX race in mud! Remember to head to the car wash afterwards to ge those bikes clean. Bring some towels and extra chain lube just in case! And don't forget the wire brush!

FMF Factory team looking good in Redmond

The FMF Factory team went into Redmond, Oregon for the Great Northwest Nationals in full force. With a full team we somehow found room to add one more with the addition of Kyle Leiber. This pickup looked pretty awesome as he popped out of the gate in his first National main on his cruiser Saturday to take the win start to finish. He continued to impress all weekend long and we are happy to have him on board with us.

Not to let the new kid show the older riders up the rest of the team stepped up and were out front throughout the weekend. We did have some bad luck in a few mains which kept the team finish a little lower than we hoped but many motos and mains had the FMF rider out with the front of the pack.
Starting out with our awesome dual of Kelsey VanOgle and Drew Machieslen in the girl class we had Kelsey way out front winning both days and Drew battling for first went down on Saturday in class. Then the cruisers came up and Kyle started is as mentioned above then Hayden Mechielsen came right after him and pulled in a 5th Saturday and 4th Sunday. Dylan Wilson came next and was riding as good as we’ve seen him making mains both days and looking strong. Then brother Jordan Wilson came up and came home with a 2nd and 1st on his cruiser. Right after Jordan came Josh Klatman and he didn’t disappoint with wins both days on his cruiser. We then started getting a little older but not slower as Dave Archibald in the tough 36-45 cruiser pulled of 2nd place finishes both days. Then even older came Dan Bushnell and he pulled off a 1st and 2nd place finish for the weekend. We then follow up the cruiser class with the girl cruisers. This time Drew and Kelsey are in the same class battling tough both days. Saturday saw Drew pull off the win and Kelsey went down ending up with 8. Then on Sunday Drew and Veronika Gulvin were battling down the rythmm when they both went down and just when it looked like Kelsey got a good break and would get around the mess a bike got in the way and she also went down. Kelsey will be real happy when those two have their birthday this year and move up. Brittany Bushnell followed them in the 21-25 girl cruiser class with the younger age bumped in with them she brought home 5th place both days.
Then we went into the 20 inch age groups and started off with the Glissmeyer brothers. Wyatt was looking good but missed his main on Saturday but came back Sunday and pulled off a 6th. Brother Chance came next and did just the opposite with a 6th on Saturday and tough luck on Sunday missing his main. These 2 will be getting tougher as the year goes on so look out. Kyle came back up and showed us again how good of a pickup he is for us as he was looking good but then had tough luck and ended with a 6th on Saturday but stepped it up a little better and got 3rd on Sunday. Hayden came up again and brought home a 6th and 7th . Lain VanOgle was looking fast and brought home a 4th and a 5th in his class. Dylan was again looking hot seen out front in a semi but tough racing in the main. He pulled in a 8 on Sunday after a bad start and just missed his main on Saturday. Jordan came out looking good and pulled off 3rd both days in a tough 15 expert class. Then in 16 expert Josh Klatman ran into trouble crashing in the main both days
The team scores after the crashes came in with 191 and 190 points for a 5th and 6th place finish. We didn’t finish as good as we would have liked but if you were there you saw that we had a good showing and we will be right up in the finishes this year.
We would like to Thank FMF for the bikes and parts and Fly for helping to make us look good and protect us
.
